| Saul Berson Quartet

You heart will race and your gypsy soul will rejoice when tango and klezmer meet jazz. The Georgia Straight Jazz Society presents the Saul Berson Quartet in concert at the Elks’ Home on Sunday April 19th. In over ten years together, the Saul Berson Quartet have grown a unique sound melding Middle-eastern overtones, Argentinian tango and jazz improvisation. Their 2008 CD “Intricacy” was nominated in the Outstanding Jazz Recording category for the Western Canadian Music Awards. The quartet is Saul Berson on clarinet and alto saxophone, Kim Darwin on accordion and piano, Hornby-based Tony Wilson on guitar and Paul Blaney on bass. |
Every Thursday 7:30 pm, at Courtenay's Elk's Hall, September through July. No cover. Musicians welcome to sit in on the final set jam.
