Thursday Jazz at the Elks
7:30 pm, at Courtenay's Elk's Hall, September through July. No cover. Musicians welcome to sit in on the final set jam.

Jazz on Film - in Cumberland
Reel Films is featuring a double feature film Jazz night:

Admission -
Both films $10 per person. There is a concession of yummy popcorn, drinks and treats too. Seating is limited to 35, no reservations.

Jazz on a Summers Day - Footage of 1958 Newport Jazz Festival and practice for the American cup race. Visually stimulating and featuring performances by Louis Armstrong, Anita O'Day, Jimmy Giuffre, Thelonius Monk, Mahalia Jackson, Dinah Washington and more. Duration: 77 minutes
Roland Kirk - Rare footage of Roland Kirk (later Rahsaan Roland Kirk) from 1963 to 1967. A truly original innovative player of saxophones and flute. Very watchable even for non sax players!! Duration: 75 minutes
