Jennifer Scott - Kristen Strom Crossing Borders is a new international jazz group led by the heralded Canadian jazz vocalist/pianist Jennifer Scott and San Francisco Bay Area saxophonist Kristen Strom, well–known for her melodic, engaging style. Their music is cool and smoky, intimate and fiery, swinging and soulful..
"... this voice immediately arrested my hearing and said, 'Wake up, listen up, sit down, and listen to this lady 'til she's finished singing.' A very pure, a very flexible voice - a voice made to sing jazz ... Jennifer Scott definitely has great time and a very flexible voice ..." - Katie Malik, CBC Jazzbeat |

JAZZ STUFF |

Great jazz bassist and local favourite Jodi Proznick was the cover subject of Nov/Dec issue of Coda Magazine. Coda, celbrating its 50th year of publication in May 2008, is Canada's premier jazz magazine. The GSJS sponsered a wonderful concert featuring Jodi and sax wizard PJ Perry in April 2007. It's good to see Jodi recognized on the national stage, and we hope to see her back in the area soon. |
