Liam Grimm Bursary The Jazz Society is proud to present the 2010 Liam Grimm Bursary to Danielle Fortin. Danielle, a Highland Secondary graduate, has been very active in the Comox Valley music scene. Jazz Club audiences have enjoyed her trombone playing with the Georgia Strait Big Band. Congratualtions to Danielle, and we wish her every success. Pictured left-to-right: Jackie Holt, Treasurer, Georgia Straight Jazz Society; Danielle Fortin; Joan Grimm. Haiti Relief On February 4th an incredible group of musicians and audience members came together to support the children of Haiti. The January earthquake seems remote now, with oil spills, summits and soccer taking over the news. But the contributions you made are not forgotten. The Jazz Society is proud to hold, on your behalf, this plaque from Save the Children Canada. It will be on display in the Elks Hall beginning in September.
