Enough of this electronic drummer-in-a-box stuff. These guys have a serious time keeper replacement . . .

Grammys, Junos, now the NJA

Here's a jazz award that you can be part of. The Canadian National Jazz Awards are accepting public votes for their upcoming 8th annual ceremony, May 14. Vancouver Island is again well represented in the nomimations, including Jodi Proznik (bass), Phil Dwyer (sax, instrumentlast, arranger and musician of the year!), Joe Coughlin (vocalist), and Victoria resident and UVic prof Ian McDougall (big band). You can vote on the NJA web site.
