Armi Grano is one of the finest jazz vocalists on the contemporary jazz music scene today. Originally from the Philippines, she expands her performances to international shores. She has been known to grace stages throughout Asia, including Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Manila. Adding to her appeal and diversity, she is able to captivate audiences by singing in five different languages including Spanish, English, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian and Filipino.

With three albums recorded, Armi is enjoying cd sales and airplay all over Canada, USA, Mexico and Asia.
She is a favorite at leading clubs and Vancouver hotels such as Rossini’s, Cloud 9, The Pan Pacific, The Westin, The Four Seasons, Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, The Sheraton and Hyatt. Her influences include Shirley Horn, Sarah Vaughan, Astrud Gilberto, Julie London and Anita O’Day, which have helped her to develop her own blend of music featuring an exciting mix of Latin, pop, swing and jazz influences.
Armi has appeared in numerous local and international musical events such as the Dragon Boat Festival, Pacific National Exhibition and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with the John Nolan Trio, Dal Richards, Mark Hasselbach, Miles Black, Ron Johnston and Linton Garner. In the 2005 TD Jazz Festival, Armi headlined a sold out show at the Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver with the Miles Black Trio.
"Armi is a pianist/arranger’s dream to work with because she knows what she is after and yet is open to try new ideas. Her flexibility makes the musical task, fun, inventive and in the end, rewarding for the listener”, says world-renowned jazz pianist Ron Johnston. Her albums include “Latin Color” and “Satin Dreams” and “Feelin’ Fine”. All albums are currently enjoying airplay in Mexico, Asia, USA and Canadian radio stations such as 600 AM, 96.1 World FM, CKUA-Alberta and CBC radio.
As a cancer survivor, Armi works hard to give back to the community. She is often involved in fund raising events such as the B.C. Children’s Hospital Telethon, Basics for Babies, CIBC Run for the Cure and United Way Campaign. Part of this philanthropic focus was manifested in Armi being featured in the “Look Good Feel Better” magazine of the CCTFA, which came out with the August 2001 issue of Chatelaine, Canadian Living and Flare magazines.
Armi has organized a yearly fund raising concert dubbed as “Feelin’ Fine” for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation’s Chemotherapy Clinic where she received her cancer treatments in the year 2000. The concerts were highly successful events with an all star musical soiree featuring the best musicians and artists in the city. The yearly event which is on its third year has raised $10,600 with the most recent one held on November 18, 2006 at West Vancouver’s Kay Meek Centre.
