Elks Home, 6th Street, Coutenay
Tickest at Bop City and Thursday Jazz Club, Elk's Hall

Miranda Sage is one of Canada’s new female vocalists receiving critical acclaim. A music lover since early childhood, Miranda’s training includes a background in piano, clarinet, saxophone, flute and guitar with vocal training from the University of Victoria and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. She has also had the great opportunity to work with such notables in the jazz world as Sheila Jordan and Norma Winston.

The Show begins at 7:30 and the seating is limited in this intimate comfortable setting.

Tickets are available at Bop City and the Thursday evening Jazz Club at the Elks.

Sage has done extensive vocal training, both at the University of Victoria and the Royal Conservatory of Music and at numerous jazz workshops in North America and Europe. In addition to Winstone and Jordan, she has studied with Jay Clayton and Louise Rose.

The Times Colonist once wrote that her "horn-like phrasing is a delight." She's performed with his Hugh Fraser Big Band and with the Port Townsend Jazz Festival Big Band. Other performance highlights include the Ile of Wight Jazz Divas Festival and Scotland's Mid Argyle Annual Gala. Sage performs regularly around Victoria with the Swiftsure Big Band and smaller ensembles. She's also performed several times at the Victoria International Jazz Fest.

Technically and conceptually, Miranda uses her voice like an instrument. Neil Ritchie of CBC Radio says that her work is “a savvy mix of tunes, tempos and ensembles sung with clear and effortless delivery.”

Miranda has several CD’s including “Moon Tiger” featuring Juno award winning Hugh Fraser and bassist Don Thompson and “Standards and Originals in a Jazz Key”  produced by Rick Kilburn.

Accompanying Miranda for this special performance is Ron Hadley of the Old School House on piano and Rick Kilburn on stand-up bass.
