Anela and the Experimenters

Members $10, non-members $12

Following last week's amazing show by Hub City Trio, we present Anela Kahiamoe and his band "The Experimenters". This band always delivers a memorable evening of great music, led by one of Vancouver Island's finest musicians, with beautiful vocals and fantastic skills on guitar, ukulele and lap steel.

"The Experimenters" is made up with first call musicians, including Bruce "Jake" Jacobs on bass; an exceptionally versatile musician. Jake's credentials include band leader of "The Rankin Family" and performing with Kenny Shields & the iconic Canadian Rock Band "Streetheart".

On pedal steel is four-time CCMA nominated Powell River musician Evan Ehgoetz, who weaves in his beautiful and unique sound into the evening's music. Evan is a professional and touring musician, who has performed with the likes of Paul Brandt and Shane Yellowbird. Listen closely as Evan takes the "Country" out of the pedal steel and blends it with jazz standards.

And if you want to listen to something very special on trumpet, just wait until you experience special guest Amelia Thomas as she performs her unique presentation on trumpet, together with her beautiful vocals! Amelia currently resides in Nanaimo, after attending the prestigious Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Vancouver Island University, where she received her Bachelor of Jazz Studies degree. She's a jazz and Latin specialist, so you're in for a treat! Visit her website too take a closer look at this intriquing woman. ameliasthomas.com
